British Airways
British Airways is the largest airline of the
United Kingdom. It is also the third largest
airline in Europe, with more flights from Europe
across the Atlantic than any other operator. Its
main hubs are London Heathrow and London Gatwick,
with wide-reaching European and domestic
shorthaul networks, including smaller hubs at
other UK airports including Manchester, from
which some longer-haul flights are also operated.
KLM
KLM is a subsidiary of Air France-KLM. Before its
merger with Air France, KLM was the national
airline of the Netherlands. Air France-KLM is
France and the Netherlands' main air carrier. Its
KLM subsidiary operates from the airline hub of
Schiphol Airport, near Amsterdam, where the
subsidiary company has its headquarters. Air
France took over KLM in May 2004, resulting in
the creation of Air France-KLM.
Thomsonfly
Thomsonfly is the charter and scheduled airline
of Thomson Holidays with bases across the United
Kingdom. Thomsonfly is the largest charter
airline in the world. The scheduled part of
Thomsonfly is a low-fare carrier operating
services to 20 European cities. In September
2005, Thomsonfly expanded to offer low-cost
flights from additional UK bases to destinations
across Europe commencing in May 2006.
